EMpower Programme
Board Readiness: Corporate Governance, Code of Leadership and Board Effectiveness

This programme is designed to uncover the essentials of boardroom activity to help you plan your transition onto a board. Bringing together seasoned professionals with a wealth of boardroom experience, our interactive sessions will explore the realities and expectations of serving on boards. Our delegate/speaker ‘breakouts’ will provide a platform for candid group discussion and a discreet forum to have your questions answered.

Conducted under Chatham House Rules, our interactive format provides a unique platform for candid, open and honest discussion with the objective of empowering diverse, emerging leaders to transition onto corporate boards. At this particular session, we will focus on demystifying the boardroom: what is the function of the board and how to they operate? What are the core roles and responsibilities of board directors? What liabilities are you exposed to and how can you mitigate risk? How do we understand the nuances of non-exec roles versus executive roles? And how can aspiring board professionals identify the role that is right for them?
